I'm working on putting everything together right now. Could everyone email me their interviews?
You can send it to either broomninja@gmail.com or amcneely@forum. If the file is too big to email, you can use rapidshare.com or mediafire.com and send me the link to download them. Or, you can just wait until our meeting this afternoon and give them to me via flash drive! I just need them by tonight so I can get things taken care of. :)
This blog was created in order to monitor progress on our English 104 Video Collaboration project. We chose to do ours on The Hunger Games. This blog is authored by Jessi Clark, Will Fulmer, Abbey McNeely, Katie Saunders

Week 3 Post 1- Abbey
Hey everyone!
Here's a recap of what we did Thursday.
We started out with a to-do list on a white board. It helped to keep us on track and to get everything done on time!
Here's a recap of what we did Thursday.
We started out with a to-do list on a white board. It helped to keep us on track and to get everything done on time!
We each recorded our individual reactions based on our know-how.
Jessi discussed some of the criticisms of the movie's translation of the book, Katie listed some of the important plot points of the book that were not included in the movie, Will explained his reaction as a viewer who has not read the books, and I pointed out some of the technical aspects of the filmmaking that helped the book translate properly into the movie.
We also recorded our voice-over for the summary section of the project!
To-do list complete!

Week 3 Post 2 - Katie EVERYONE READ
Hey lovely group(: We did so good yesterday and got so much done!
So we decided to meet on Sunday night when everyone is back. Would 630-ish be good for everyone?
The only things that are really left to do is work on the portfolio (which jess started this morning), right the 1-page thing, and do our works cited. I started on mine this morning. Cite anything we might use or have already used! Cite your pictures, graphs, information, quotes, trailers, interviews, everything! Post it on the blog or I'll get it from y'all on Sunday and compile it into our works cited page.
Good work everyone! We're almost done! And Will- sorry for kicking you out of the library hahah

Week 3 Post 2 - Jessi
okay, we made a lot of progress today guys! Way to go! Now that we each have our parts recorded, we can begin editing. We have the summary recorded. Will, Katie and i just split it in half and turned it in so we could go ahead and begin the video and get that part done. Abbey if you can go ahead and start piecing it all together, that would be wonderful. If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.
Also, Katie and I went to the AKL Hunger Games today. We got a couple of interviews and some footage of the games. We also can do another recording recapping those if we need/want to add a segment about the social aspect of the Hunger Games into our video. Depending on how much time our video already takes up, we can decide, but Katie and I do have the information and clips to do that with.
I am also going to start putting names and things together for the credits. In the credits we need to put the names of the people we interviewed (if we dont know the names, idk what to do, maybe have to redo interviews with people we actually know) , the names of the websites out information is coming from and so on. I can begin that and each of you will have to add what i do not know.
Also, we will need a work cited page. Katie has already done our summary, so Will maybe you could use my credits to put together an MLA work cited page to go in our portfolio?? Please :)
Any work you have that is a document or anything that we have a hard copy of can be brought when we meet again to be put in the portfolio. We have started it already! :)
Cannot wait to see the finished product. Keep up the good work guys! We are in the home stretch!!! :) :) :)

wEEK 3 pOST 1 -kATIE
So for our personal interviews I am going to talk about how they did good with translating the book in the time that they had but here were some problems...
Hard to translate 374 pages into a movie, even one that is 2.5 hours
Wolves's eyes: in the book they tricked the last 3 players into thinking that these muttations (wolves) were
the tributes that had died during the game by having eyes that looked remarkably the same
and a color representing the district-this was VERY disturbing because it showed the ability of
the capitol to CONTROL EVERYTHING INCLUDING EMOTION (didnt happen in movie)
Peeta's Leg: in the book peeta did not recover so quickly from the wound cato inflicted on his leg, he was
holding katniss back but she would not leave him (important) and the mutt wolves almost got him.
by the end of the book, he loses his leg and gets a prosthetic one
Alliance with Rue: rue has been following her around but they never hurt eachother. when katniss is in the tree
being hunted by the careers, points out the trackerjacker nests. when katniss wakes up from
the tracker jacker poison, rue is the one that has kept her alive, they form alliance, are
together working on plans, rue gets killed, much more emotional in the book, people in
the movie didnt understand/know that it was supposed to be heartwrenching
Relationship with Peeta: didnt show how their relationship forms, didnt really show his real love/her confused
love.
TOO MANY CHARACTERS TO DEVELOP IN SUCH A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME, DIDN'T SEE THE IMPORTANCE OF RELATIONSHIPS
